Stairlifts
Stairlifts offer a safe and reliable way of overcoming the problem of getting up and down the stairs.
Safety on the stairs is paramount. If you have difficulty getting up and down the stairs then you are not alone. Every year thousands of people look for a solution to the problems posed by the difficulty they have using the staircase in their home.
The decision to install a stairlift can be a difficult one to make but when compared with moving house or living on one level, many people have found a stairlift to be their proffered option.
Choosing The Correct Stairlift
The type of stairlift you require will depend on your staircase. Generally there are two different types of stairlift.
Straight
Straight stairlift tracks can only travel in straight lines, they cannot turn a corner or go round a bend.
Curved
Curved stairlifts have tracks that are specially designed to suit staircases that turn corners or are spiral. Curved tracks are made to order following a survey of each individual staircase.
Using a Stairlift
Unless someone you know is already benefiting from a stairlift you maybe a little unsure of what is involved in owning and using a stairlift.

It is a popular misconception that stairlifts are fixed to the wall. This is rarely the case with domestic stairlifts which are usually fitted directly on to the staircase itself. Firstly a track is fitted to your stairs and a power pack is fitted to the track, this is the unit that will travel along the track, then the seat that most suits your needs is fitted to the power pack. All stairlifts are operated by a switch or toggle that is held in the direction of travel to make the lift move, when released it will stop moving.
Surveying Your Staircase
It is vital that your staircase is surveyed before your stairlift is supplied.

It is rare that a stairlift cannot be fitted to a staircase but some systems may have limitations that mean they are not suitable for your home. You do not need to worry about surveying your staircase, we will do it for you. Most surveys are quick and easy to perform.
Outdoor Stairlift
We also supply stairlifts for staircases outside.

It isn’t only stairs inside the home that cause problems for some people. Steps up to a porch or front door can be equally difficult to climb.
The Minivator 1000 Outdoor stairlift is fully waterproofed and designed to overcome the problems caused by external straight runs of stairs.
Like all Minivator stairlifts the outdoor model has a key switch to prevent unauthorised use of the lift, which means it can be isolated when not in use.
Supplied with UV protected Slate Grey upholstery the Minivator Outdoor stairlift also comes with a waterproof cover to keep it protected from the weather so it is always ready for use.
