Our Douglas Fir double disabled picnic bench is manufactured from British-grown timber and processed in the most environmentally friendly methods available.

This sustainable picnic bench is especially designed to cater for 2 wheelchair access points as well as other seating and makes itself known with its enormous 10′ (3m) length. All the logs are from Devon and Cornwall FSC certified woodlands and are processed at a sawmill near Truro. This is an extended version of the Forestry Commission design suitable for easy access for all. (Please note that the lighter coloured image shows an untreated model).

The finished picnic bench is treated with wood preservative under controlled conditions by vacuum pressure technology using the latest environmentally safe “Tanalith E” from Arch Timber Protection. Tanalith E treated timber can be used with confidence for all applications in Hazard class 1-4, internal and external, above and below ground use. Does not need to be treated at all and can be left outside all Winter and will last a long long time – REQUIRES NO MAINTENANCE.

These benches are designed for areas of high public use and can be simply placed on the surface of your required seating area or if you wish we can extend the legs so that they can be sunk into concrete or below the ground surface to half way up the horizontal connecting beams. This provides a stable platform, which for Health and Safety reasons is essential for disabled use. We recommend that the picnic table is installed into a wheel chair friendly surface with a clear path to the table where possible.
